Scrapbook Boutique August Moodboard challenge

Today I am playing along with the mood board
challenge at Scrapbook Boutique-

This colour palette reminds me of a popular gender- neutral
baby nursery colour palette,
so I made a card for a friend who is expecting soon-

I coloured some white cardstock with Tim Holtz Hickory Smoke
Distress Ink, then applied 'Sunshine' Colour Blast Colour Paste
through a star stencil.
Then once they were dry I outlined the stars
with a fine-tip pen to highlight them.
I added some ink detail around the edges
with Invilde Bolme white chalk ink.

I used a Kaisercraft stamp for my sentiment
with the white chalk ink.
I used a DIY star from Charm's Creations, and coloured it with 'Saffron' Colour Blast Colour Spray, Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, and added highlights with a fine-tip pen.

SBT50 August challenge - DT share

It's a sketch challenge this month at Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia.

And here is my DT page. I flipped the sketch around a bit to suit my photos.

I've used the awesome 'You Rock' collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I love this collection so much, and its just perfect for my fun-loving little man.

I've added some red spray ink, stamping, die cuts and some  Colour Blast 'Sunshine' colour paste through a stencil under my photos.

I hope you can join us for this month's challenge!

Uniquely Creative August Creative kit - DT share

This month I am Guest DT at Uniquely Creative for the August Creative kit.
I really love this masculine kit, featuring the Factory 42 collection from Kaisercraft.

So lets take a look at my projects-

I wanted this layout to appear as if the people in the photo were exploring into a hidden world behind the brick wall!

My next layout has more of a vintage feel-

I've also made some cards-

I've also created a layout as guest designer for Uniquely Creative for the August 'Branches and Leaves' challenge at Kraft+

I've used the August Creative kit exclusively. I created some 'sticks' with the brown colouring mediums in the kit.

Unfortunately this August Creative kit is now sold out, but make sure you sign up for a subscription so you never miss out! Keep an eye out for some new soon-to-be-released kits over at Uniquely Creative!

AALL & Create - ITAC'17 - Week 1 Entry

I was so excited when I saw the concept of the
International Tournament of Art and Craft
- ITAC'17-.

So here is my project for Challenge 1 - Europe.

I've created a canvas for my craft room.

I've used some Beethoven music paper (a European element) for my background and added some blue around the border.
I used an amazing AALL&Create exclusive stencil (designed by the incredible Fiona Paltridge) with some gold colour paste.

I have added some flair buttons from Fabrika Decoru. The designs on the flair represent the face and the vintage requirements, but also represent modern-day globalisation in the fact that I was able to buy these from Ukraine, all the way to Australia!

My chipboard title is from 2Crafty, and I have layered gesso, heat embossing, acrylic paint and Glossy Accents to build texture.
I've added lots of different textured embellishments - paper, chipboard, resin, wire, fabric, glass, feather, sequins and muslin.

I have used the following requirements for the
Week 1 Challenge-

  • A face
  • Music paper
  • Letters, numbers
  • Blue
  • Textures
  • Something both vintage and modern

I really enjoyed putting this project together,
and look forward to the Week 2 Challenge!

Scrap The Boys August challenge - DT share

This month's challenge at Scrap The Boys is super sized!
The challenge is to use a 5x7" or larger photo.
Here is my DT page-

I've used the awesome You Rock collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio
- I just can't get enough of Zoe's boy collections.

A super sized photo called for super sized embellishments. I've used a mix of die-cuts, wood veneer, rubber charms, flair and enamel shapes.

It's easy to create co-ordinated embellishment clusters by using multi-textured pieces from the same collection or manufacturer.

Scrap The Boys July challenge - DT share

Its a sketch challenge this month at Scrap The Boys
Here is my DT page-
I've used papers and ephemera from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.
The chipboard digger is from Words Or Whatever, and I've
painted it with acrylic paint.

I've hand-written my journalling, documenting a
small memory of the quirks of a 3 year old!

Scrap The Girls July Challenge

I absolutely love the deep, brooding mood board for this
month's Scrap The Girls challenge

Navy blue is one of my very favourite colours to scrap with, but having said that, my layout that was inspired by this mood board went off on a totally different direction than where I started!

I was drawn immediately to the black and white horizontal stripes, and I also took inspiration from the dark blues and Kraft colours in the top image, as well as the feathers.

So here' a look at my layout

I've used some Dusty Attic chipboard feathers which I coloured with Colour Blast Colour Spray and Dina Wakley paint. I've also added some white acetate feathers.

I've also used a flair and tabs from Flutterby Designs, a heart from Charm's Creations and some resin flowers.

Another inspiration for my page is the work of  Scrap The Girls DT member Tammy Klingner, I really admire the way she mixes patterns and colour.

SBT50 July challenge - DT share

This month's challenge at Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia is a mood board challenge-

And here is my DT layout-

I've used Studio Calico paper for my base, then just added some black gesso.

All of my embellishments are from Hip Kit Club. I made some clusters with the little flowers.

A simple layout but I really love how it came together.

Jot Magazine June Mood Board challenge

When I saw the class and glamour of the June mood board at Jot Magazine I immediately thought 'wedding'!

So here is my wedding layout inspired by the mood board.

I was inspired by the rosettes in the mood board to create  circles for my design. I also added some gold keys from the mood board. These are both very strong wedding motifs!

I've used mostly Kaisercraft collections. I have to admit I've been hoarding the marble paper from the 'Wildflower' collection.
